What is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift is essentially a perm for your eyebrows. An alternative to treatments like permanent eyelash extensions, a lash lift gives you a natural, lasting look. The lift works by applying a curling serum to your eyebrows while a mini-curling rod shapes your eyelashes, giving them the look you desire.

Our eyelashes all have a natural look. Unique to us, they’re not always the shape or length we desire. A curled, lifted eyelash gives you a more inviting and finished look. A low-maintenance solution, lash lifts save you the time taken to normally apply mascara every day, giving you a long-lasting, cost-effective beauty solution.

How Does a Lash Lift Work?

The special serum that’s applied to your eyelashes acts to break down the protein fibres in your hair. This makes the lashes malleable and allows the technician to shape them to your desired style.

Once formed around the appropriately sized rod, they are set with a finishing serum. This mixture restores and conditions the lash, allowing it to set into its new form. A final coat of serum is then applied to protect the lashes and help the shape last for as long as possible.

How Long Does a Lash Lift Take?

The process begins with cleansing the area after an initial, brief consultation. After that, the curling procedure will begin. The whole process is usually completed in about 45 minutes under normal circumstances. This is an incredibly short amount of time in comparison to the accumulated hours you’ll save each morning applying mascara. Giving you a more natural look that’s easy to maintain.

How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?

This will largely depend on what makeup products you use and how quickly your lashes grow. Typically, a lash lift will last for around 6 weeks. To get the most out of your lift, you should make sure that no makeup or water comes into contact with your lashes for the first 24-hour period. This will allow them to better set and increase the lifespan of the lift.

Can I Still Use Makeup On My Eyelashes?

Yes. After the first 24-48 hours period you can use mascara on your lashes. It is recommended, however, that you should not use waterproof mascara on your lashes following this procedure. This type of mascara can act to dehydrate your lashes and lose your curl. Your technician will be able to walk you through the proper post-procedure care for your lashes and suitable products to use.

Will A Lash Lift Damage My Eyebrows?

No, a lash lift is a relatively safe procedure. As long as it’s performed by a qualified professional you have nothing to worry about.
